The weather warnings published to this page are based on a number of criteria relevant to the level of danger to life or limb expected and are issued in 5 severities:
  1. No Warning - No severe weather is probable anywhere in the UK
  2. Weather Watch - Marginally severe weather may be possible in the areas noted
  3. Weather Advisory - Severe weather is probable within the regions noted, but not certain
  4. Weather Warning - Severe weather is highly likely and imminent in the regions noted
  5. Weather Flash - Severe weather is occurring now in the areas noted
The bulletins below detail severe weather expected now or in the coming hours. More details regarding the criteria of issuance can be found on the Weather Warnings page.

Please note that whilst we will strive to issue watches, advisories and warnings for all widespread severe weather in the UK, the forecast team is voluntary and as such may not be available at all times.  Flash warnings in particular may be affected by forecaster availability.
