Location: Evesham, Worcs | I don't think people living and working in Galloway and Lochaber should be allowed to submit photos taken in Galloway or Lochaber - 's not fair on the rest of us |

You know what ?? I almost said that myself but thought better of it even though it was a joke, I wish I had now but the way to look at it is that it's our good fortune to have Dave and John and whoever-else up there so we can enjoy the beauty of their landscapes - but the photos from Wales are also a pleasure to view so, as the Monty Python lot said, "look on the bright side " (of life) |

Location: Gedney Hill,Lincolnshire. 1m asl | Congratulations Dave,a superb photograph. It would make a great watercolour painting. What camera and lens did you use?
Maybe it would be useful if future winners could tell idiots like me what equipment you use.

Alan.
I can assure you that having the most expensive equipment you can get will not help you to produce the kind of quality photographs that make it into the top 5 each month. It's down to the skill, the expertise and not least, the vision of the man or women behind the lens. Certainly get a decent camera/lens, that's important too to have good tools to do a job, and then read as as much as you can get off the web - there's a mountain of info. out there and also look at the section in here 'Photography, hints, tips and advice' and look out for photos with CC (constructive criticism) against them and see what advice is proferred and just get clicking, assessing, re-assessing and improving and one day we'll see one of yours in the top 5 I'm sure. Good luck. |
