Location: Wimbledon, SW London, UK. | Congratulations to Dave and the other winners - some stunning late winter photographs there. Maybe a different flavour to the March comp or maybe not if this weekend's snow comes to pass! |

Thank you John for your kind encouragement. It's not that I am new to photography. In a previous life I used my old Canon T90 more or less on a daily basis, using some of my pic's for brochures and promotional work. I have never got to grips with digital photography. I don't have a digital SLR. My current camera is a Pentax Optio 430RS,which is OK for 'Happy Snapping',but that's all. If I was looking to buy a digital SLR,it would either be the Nikon D40X, or the Canon D400. You can read the revues for ever, but in my opinion it is better to see pictures taken with each camera and talk to people who use them. That is the reason for my original post. In fact years ago, it was common practice when entering a photographic competition to list the camera, lens, film, and settings used. |

Location: Gloucester City. | Alan, I realised after posting that this is the 'competition results thread' and not for camera chit chat but as a last word, Chris Lloyd's got the 400D and you can see his excellent photos in the Frouks non-weather photography section.
Maybe have a word with him, it's a very good camera. |
