I was looking for sites which gave information on the weather around the UK. So in Google I typed 'UK Weather' and come across UKWW. I have logged on almost every day since. :)

About 2 years ago I was searching for any information about a tornado that happened near here and ended up on ukWW. What a great find and although I registered at the time, I didn't really look through the forum much for quiet a while but when I did one Sunday when I had a cold ...

Somebody I was in college with told me that the easiest way to keep in touch with them was to go on this site that they helped run. As a result I am a FROUK (which I would urge everybody to join) and I have learnt a bit about the weather. Can't remember who told me though, but Sam had a lot more hair when he was in college!

I've often wondered how Andre found it ;)  I don't think I ever mentioned to him on, ahem, a certain other forum?

I stumbled onto UKww many moons ago whilst searching for Supercell Thunderstorm information. I paid up my frouk money a short time later I think.

Seems odd, but I can't remember (I am getting a bit old[hmmm] ) - I think I was just tooling around and p'raps Googled weather - anyway, came up with this and one or two others. TWO is one I still dip into, very occasionally, but Netweather is a no-no for me - it's personal, but they won't benefit (?) from my input - got my fingers burnt, so to speak, so I'm outta there!! Don't appreciate criticsm (sp) of their type - so went off in a hissy fit. Didn't say so - just didn't post any more - so, I'm a drama queen! Just don't like whiffs of hypocrisy - don't ask!

Took my days off work during the week a couple of years back, had a beach front home, I was interested in I.T and not only had a passion for weather and the physics involved but also got to see complete weather systems from the very south-west tip of Cornwall (still do) and put 2 + 2 together, did a search and found exactly what I was looking for. like minded thinking from like minded people on like minded subjects  -- I was very lucky in that I managed to type to some nice people during some pretty extreme events (i.e..hurricane Ivan) around the world, and now .. partly due to UKww I am about to embark on a BSc in Ocean Science this coming summer.

If I have not said it recently  - Thankyou Ukww   [s]

I found out about this great website from Conor (lightning strike) who highly reccomended it for reading about and reporting obsv/images of various meteorlogical phenomena and of course the great space and weather section. Of course i took his advice onboard and i have nerver looked back.
