Have got the fourth cam back now, and have finally ironed out the teething bugs. Click the link below, or in my sig.

Cameras are in Leytonstone, East London.

The username and password are already entered :)

Camera 4 is the super duper hi-res day (2.5m pixels effective) night infra red with auto iris and sony 1/3" sensor ;) and for the next couple of days its actually looking at the weather :D

Tell me what you think, as I might set one up at home. Btw image size at work on the terminal is 640x480 at about triple the resolution you get on the live view.

I just checked camera4, and realised that I mounted inside the window as a temporary measure, only to realise that when the light level drops the infra red diodes come on and reflect against the glass o|

Hi Dave,  Good to see that the cameras are up and running...I obviously checked in too late as all I can see on Cam 4 is the back yard and not the sky/cloud expected...

For others out there who are stiil investigating Webcams for use as cloud cams.....I've borrowed an old idea which I came across recently, by using a old Home Movie Camera (Hitachi Hi-8 where the recording head was suspect).....This I purchased very, very cheaply...admittedly it has to go through a Video-In card on the PC...but the daytime results are better than your average webcam (I think so anyway)...unfortunately as it has to look through 200 year old window pane there are some distortions in the field of view.....At night my video camera switches over to a real Webcam (Logitech quickcam pro 4000) where the lux sensitivity is better..

Yes, I spent ages 30ft up a ladder with a big drill, drilling some new holes and adjusting iris controls, angles etc. Sorry that its looking at the floor now. You can still see the effects of weather though, like hail, rain, snow, lightning, strong wind gusts. All of which get uploaded to here http://www.three-poi...WeatherVids.htm

Excellent...Don't like ladders myself...and I have to replace the pole on which my anemometer is mounted soon, as the pole is of insufficient strength...grrrhhh

Let's all hope, that you really do not see the effects of lightning on your camera too closely.....Yes the Video of the flash for 10 March did download OK..

Updated now to a much higher frame rate, tell me what you think...

use the left hand network button to log in (Details already entered)

You may have to download the activex for it, but its well worth it at up 25frames per second [y]

BTW, the three colour cams are using these IView Wired Day/Night CCTV Camera With Varifocal Lens And Audio (4581A) from IView Cameras. One of our Wired CCTV, Day and Night CCTV by IView products

using this software Click here for information about the Geovision 4 Camera Surveillance Software and Capture Card. One of our CCTV systems

Sowee! It's fallen into the too risky category for all the implemented security sttings that I have set on my PC...Windows doesn't like it, F-secure doesn't like it...It's all to do with the unsigned active X and all the following warnings...I did do a quick security disable, but that failed as well..Agghhhh

Yes, unfortunately it is an unsigned activex, and it does take a bit of fiddling to get it working, but it only has to be downloaded once, then you can bang your settings up high again.

I've tried everyway to circumvent my security settings to enable this particular active x to install, but all to no avail..just when you think it's been successful another hiccup emerges..refresh...windows has blocked...blah blah..

I'll go away and think about it... :s  @(

The live webcam (ff) is excellent though as discussed before...shame I can't succed wiv tuther!
