Rime Ice on a Scots Pine,formed by freezing fog which causes water droplets to freeze on contact.Correct?

Rime. Freezing fog formed briefly around dawn on a very cold night allowing rime to form on many surfaces including this plant.

HI All,
Being on dialup its taking a little time for all these images to download so while Im waiting I hope you like my image of a very rimey Christmas Morning last year.It was just after daybreak and it was like a white Christmas even the tree branches were covered in white frost. [^] It wasnt to last long however as it had all melted within the hour. :(

This was taken just E of Saas Fee on the way home on 21 December at 1302. Great frost. I guess the sun never reaches this low in the valley at that time of year to melt it.
