It's been dull and dreary all day, but around 18:30 I noticed a pinkish glow in the sky whilst sat in front of the PC. Yet another shower was just clearing, and the rain had just stopped, I popped out to the fields at the front of the house to be greeted with this.......most unexpected

Great shots, almost same as mine! :) I love it when you get small puffs of cumulus drifting across a vivid sunset.

I saw the same sunset while driving to Oxford - you pictures do do it justice, Cypry! I nearly stopped and took some shots myself but knew the roads were going to be bad (the Reading-Oxford road was actually closed due to flooding) so didn't have time to stop :(. Should've done, in hindsight.

It was a spectacular sight!

Perhaps one thing you can't tell from the photos is the depth of field. The low grey trailing cloud (especially clear in the second picture) was actually very close and only some 500' up, whilst the clouds in the deep red sunset looked to be many miles away.
