What size is your SD card? I did a search on google and found some references to older card readers not being able to read an SD card > 2GB.

i've also had a trawl and found windows Vista has problems with larger cards mine are 4gb seemingly for vista the say to buy a new standalone card reader to get over the problem.
Was hoping a software fix would do it.

Just copying across from somewhere else I visit as I thought you'd like to know:-
My friend recently bought a Nikon D3 from a highstreet store. As it wasn't in stock they said it would be delivered within a few days. When it arrived it was clear the box had seen better days. On opening it we tested the shutter count and found it had already done over 6000 clicks.
He phoned them up so a new replacement could be arranged and was told they can't garrantee(sp) the replacement will be brand new! The customer service advisor said it's quite comon for people to buy a high spec camera then return it a week later as it works out cheaper than renting one.
Anyway, the first one was sent back and another was delivered. The replacement is the same with only a few less clicks.
Is it too much to ask for a brand new camera when spending over £3000? The seller clearly knows they're sending out second hand stock!
Not surprising, Jes***s have sold used bodies as new for a long time now. I speak from experience.

Undelete 360 v2.1.6 Photo recovery software which works well on harddrive's, photo cards and via usb cable to cam.

Piriform's Recuva is also an excellent free data recovery application - I've used it in the past to recover stuff customers thought had been erased for good years ago. If a hard drive has gone so bad it won't even start to boot then if you replace it with a new drive, set it as master, load on the O/S and Recuva, then set the knackered drive as a slave, you can often get everything back.
Cheers - John

Windows displays colours darker, regardless of monitor calibration. I have 2 identical 22" monitors at work, both have totally different calibration settings to maintain colours across 2 screens. Like tvs, no 2 are the same. I've used Spyder and other tools, in my opinion they are still no match for the naked eye and patience

I'll see if I can find the link but I recently saw a tripod that sits over the open window. Perfect for these situations.
[EDIT] - found it: http://www.amazon.co...33721555&sr=8-1

Gorillapods may work better with heavier lenses though, not sure.
