Lightning tragedy: 1st June 1953

Its very rare my hometown of Irlam makes the national news but sadly  in June 1953, it did when  a weather tragedy struck as 3 people were killed by lightning. oSad
.

Very sobering story indeed and it occured even after they sensibly took to shelter?

I note that they were from Irlam which I assume is where Kevin Bradshaw lives?
