Wrightington, W Lancs - 2.40z, March 28th

One flash with rumble ~15secs after towards the NE.

Not forecast and no sferic recordings (AFAIK) so thought it was particularly worth mentioning.

1. SE London

2. 24th April 2008 Time ?

3. Time? Possibly up to 45mins

4. About 0.5 to 1/minute (very approx)

5. ?

6. Storm headed off towards the East

7. ~300metres

8. ? Difficult to tell possibly 2 cells

9. Mostly inter-cloud lightning.

Listening to SFERICS (2MHz LSB) was very interesting. SFERICS seemed long lasting sounding like sheets of paper being torn up. And loud!

One of the most interesting features of this storm was animal behaviour. It was very clear that the birds settled down/became subdued. Bird song stopped, they stopped flying around as the storm approached. Once the storm was about 4 miles past my site quite suddenly they began singing and flying again.
