"At least one of Britain's birds appears to be coping well as climate change alters the availability of a key food.

Researchers found that great tits are laying eggs earlier in the spring than they used to, keeping step with the earlier emergence of caterpillars. Writing in the journal Science, they point out that the same birds in the Netherlands have not managed to adjust."

Like robins, have become fearless little birds. Often if out for a cream tea somewhere, they will fly down and nick crumbs off your plate, not even bothering to fly off sometines either.

A nice experience. I love seeing tits on the table.

I have a feeling this one has been milked a fair bit already..Nonetheless interesting from a bird-spotters point of view.Not that i am one, cheers, indeed a most interesting hobby.

I'm strangly dissappointed having clicked this thread :( 8-) :p ;) .

Seriously though I love birdwatchin - I find the warm weather makes tits and many other types easier to view D-) [s] ;)

Indeed. Blue tits in winter and red breasts in summer. Something to crow about, perhaps.

Anyway, we've missed another point - warm weather and tits are synonymous..head down to Weston on a typical Saturday night to see yet more evidence.
