Another test photo. I have tried re-sizing them now as well so hopefully that works.

Storm brewing, one of last summers best storms. Ignore the date, I hadnt set the year correctly. Rest assured it was 2009 !

This is my local viewpoint for storm watching. Grims Dyke, Old Redding. Its near Hatch End in Middlesex. The view stretches as far as the North Downs. On this particular day I was in touch with Tony Gilbert by phone, reporting on a stream of spectacular storms. I seem to recall one of the regulars on UKww also posted photos of these storms from his viewpoint on the South Coast.

I welcome any thoughts, comments or suggestions btw. Buying a better camera is not an option at the moment though !

As far as attaching goes, perfect mate! Subject and composition are great. Have a go at cranking your contrast right up and down to see what you can get definition-wise in cloud structure, I usually find myself tricking the camera into taking low exposure shots (expose for the highlights, ie the brightest things in the image) then brightening the image later - or vice versa depending on whether I want the foreground dark or part of the subject.

However, this thread is only for practice and as Dave pointed out in the inital post this post (and any others) are..erm..disposable? If you fancy ID'ing those subjects and popping them into the Photographic Weather Reference Library for posterity? The work you've put in would definitely be appreciated.

BTW appreciated the intros to those images, looking forward to more in the future Martin! :) [y]

Thanks for the thumbs up Glyn, and for suggesting this thread in the 1st place !! Its given me a bit more confidence and Ive spent much of this afternoon going through my photo files with a new found enthusiasm. Ive even reached the point where I am re-sizing them now. And as you also suggested I have started a new folder ' Ukww photos '

I have experimented in the past with adjusting contrast/brightness etc, but find some of the photos end up looking almost fake so I try and keep them as natural as possible. I take your point about cloud structures though. Your help is much appreciated mate.

This one is Bewl Water in Kent. Again ignore the date, it was taken in 2009

Still practising. This should be one taken at Bexhill-on Sea. Again if the date says 2008, ignore it. It was 2009

Still messing around with this testing thing because I thought I had the hang of it but not sure again. If this works this should be a couple of photos I took of what I thought were quite unusual cloud formations tonight ( 28th ) Ignore the date on the print, I hadnt set my camera right yet again. To tell the truth Im losing the will to live with all this technology stuff. I know when Im beat !!

Dammit dammit and dammit it again. Try as I might I cant get the hang of this re-sizing business. Just when I thought I had it cracked and tried to post in the main photography forum I got the irritating message telling me my photo was too big again. I really cant understand it because Im using exactly the same website to re-size them as I have on the photos above, and as far as I know, exactly the same format/size/pixel thingy, although I am wondering why the last 3 have appeared even smaller.

Tell you what folks, I'll just wander off into some little corner somewhere, read all the interesting topics on here, post when I have something to say or ask about, and quite frankly forget any ideas about trying to post photos ever again ok ?
