Photo Upload Test Page

I had the same problem and it was sending me nuts.
I now use Picasa which is free from Google. http://picasa.google.co.uk/
When you open up the program at the bottom is an icon for 'export'. Choose the picture you want and click on it. It opens up a dialogue box. Change the size to 800 and change the 'picture quality' to maximum. Click on 'export' and it will stick the picture in the default location at the top. you can then upload it from that location to UkWW.
I have found that is the simplest way that works 100% every time.
Cheers

Instead of taking the p**s why not try and help me out with this. Some of us are computer illiterate, I am one of those sad fecks ok?
Anyway, I tried to post some photos I took of the convection which built up over NW London yesterday evening. 23/09/2010.

I re-sized them in Picasa exactly as I have in the past, and tried to upload them from Picasa. After submitting it I got an error message which might as well have been written in Mandarin for all it meant to me !!
I will try again here.

I quote:
" Upload failed. Most likely this forum runs on Windows 2003 which by default only allows attachments smaller than 200kb. This can be solved by ( and this is where I lost the will to live, let alone post a photo ) editing the metabase.xml on the server. Modify the Asp Max Request Entity Allowed Value to the desired value. " ...... Unquote. Wtf ??
I followed the exact above ( Picasa ) procedure just a few days ago and successfully posted several photos of the Hastings pier fire in the Frouks Lounge. It worked fine then. I just dont get it.

Not familiar with Picasa - Could it be the file type, Martin? Tiff files, for example, won't show up for me. Jpeg is good.
Hi Elly, thanks for your reply. I wouldnt know a Tiff file if it slapped me in the face. I only have Jpeg files, which all my photos are, always have been, always will be as far as I can determine. What I cant understand is how I can successfully post photos a few days ago using the exact same procedure as I tried again tonight, but this time met with a response that had me heading for Beachy Head. I feel a complete klutz but if Im doing the exact same thing it cant be me.......can it ?

Jpeg is the default image type on Picasa so it's not that. Can you give any info as to what error messages you get?
