The reason for the majority of the problems was the photo gallery, which was apparently left unchecked, and guests were allowed to post comments :S

Not live now as they've been taken down (and vastly improved forum speed) but here's some off Google's cache of them:-

This gallery (rather than the way we can upload pictures in posts) ? I'd no idea we could make comments, never mind guests doing so. No wonder it was slowing things down :o . Well spotted [y] :) . I think it now seems as fast as when we'd just upgraded the server.

Whole site is "hanging" at the moment & rich text boxes not loading - browser says "transerring data from www.google-analytics.com..." so that's where the delay appears to be. Cheers - John

Not sure if this is to do with this or not, but I can't access Frouks any more - I'm pretty sure I'm up to date with subs ;-)

I can get on the main forums as my registered user name, but when I click on Froucks lounge it asks me to register for an account..........

I'm getting a lot of BBS down for maintenance pages lately...and redirecting to top 50 when trying to post something.

These 500 errors are starting to get on my t**s now. They seem to be happening an awful lot lately, and normally when im half way through a post it does it and chucks out my post and reverts to the Top 50, this happens both at home and work. Anyone else experiencing alot more of this recently?
