31.2 C min. T tonight for Paleochora....Crazy summer weather for south Crete has started ! From Friday though we 'll expect the first meltemi winds here in Greece. Well expected for most areas as it will cool down the high temperatures of the last days.

Indeed I was watching the Palaiohora station last night..really hot!!

In fact Sivas is currently standing at around 38C!!

39.6C was confirmed the highest temperature in Greece according to HNMS in Nea Filadelfeia,Athens which I reckon should be a European maximum for 13/06/2012

Greece's maximum yesterday was in Nea Filadelfeia,Athens with 40.0C ! A noteworthy difference between the interior of the Attica Peninsula and the coast of Athens where the airport of Hellenikon has registered a mere 31.2C!!

NOA's monthly buletin for May. Sparta on top after a long time ! Mean daily max 27,5 for Sparta and 27,2 for Sivas...i am afraid we are not going to see what will happen in this battle for the month of June as Sivas station is off....and it is true Greece is loosing its biggest weapon for summer max challenge.

impressive daily mean for south crete and more specifically paleohora today. 27.6 - 37.0 that makes it 32.3. Paleohora has seen many days this summer of daily mean above 30. Ierapetra and Lendas also above 30 daily mean. At the same time Sivas managed a max close to 39 earlier.
