Hatchmere, Delamere Forest, 28-5-11: 15.5C

Those temps are a bit miserable for the end of May.

I just find that incredible Pete and pretty hard to believe, I was round a friends yesterday and they have a pool in their garden which has a solar panels to recirculate and heat the water and they've only got their pool temperature up to 21.5C at moment and that's with it being warm over the last three days and 30hours of sunshine.
Well here are three years' records from '06 to '08
http://wildswimmer.u...6watertemps.htm
http://wildswimmer.u...7watertemps.htm
http://wildswimmer.u...8watertemps.htm
The past bit of '08 isn't included and although I've got the data I haven't got around to compile '09 and '10. Sort of lost interest as by '09 the real reason for maintaining my records was no more.
All my measurements are if possible made at the FINA-recommended 400mm depth and I check my thermometer's calibration at 0C using a slush of ice and water.

Only a very small change since last measurement and well within the 0.5C which is the nearest to which I record.

Temp measured using my usual spirit thermo, at 400mm depth, and at exactly the same spot.
Although I do have an electronic (digital) instrument I can't submerge the probe to the specified 400mm depth, and anyway accuracy to 0.1C isn't required.
