Let me recap for Greece.Well, a cold spring with March being especially cold and unusually low means and the same for April.May about average with all 3 summer months hotter than average probably (remember we do not have long term means for Palaiohora-though the summer means were about the same with the last 4 years we have data for Palaiohora).September was close to the climatic values and then we head for one of the COLDEST autumns the last decade in Greece with October much lower than climatic values and November way lower than climatic values and in fact the coldest November in a decade which turns out to be even colder than December (so far). None the less despite the fact that South Crete has seen the COLDEST YEAR in annual means the past decade (or more) it still leads....
All in all Ian it was the WORST year you could possibly choose for Crete to run your thread:)If it was any other year the past decade I would say that Palaiohora would come out warmer by more than 1.5C compared to any area of IP in mean temps instead of a mere 0.6C lead that we currently have!
Could someone recap for coastal Spain?

Thanks for the re-cap Pit, Funny enough if you look at the figures below you are correct especially regarding Palaiohora which is running at a slightly higher mean this month to the 19th than the whole of November. Both Rhodes and Ierapetra are not far off their November means.
Good week for South Crete with Palaiohora pulling further into the lead and Ierapetra this month has gone from 5th a week ago to 2nd, and in the annual charts has gone up one place to 2nd.

Am I entitled to throw a tantrum for the Ierapetra HNMS station?Such a pity HNMS is being stupid and closed it down as it was always around 0.3C warmer to NOA one.Anyhow it is pretty much expected that the whole of coastal south crete would be in the top spots.

Figures in yellow mean they are from their respective countries met-office, in white its either from NOA, or is an hourly max or minimum due to either so max/min recorded by either HNMS or AEMET or the max/min occurred outside the normal time frame, i.e mins between 2100 and 0900 and maxes between 0900 and 2100. Sivas is for maximums only and not part of this project.

Well, let’s see. If we use official data, Seville San Pablo had a temperature average of 20.31°C in 2011
http://www.ogimet.com/cgi-bin/gclimat?lang=en&mode=0&ind=08391&ord=DIR&year=2011&mes=12&months=12

With NOA data (observations NOA), I think NOA data are not official, but you use them! However
http://cirrus.meteo.noa.gr/forecast/bolam/index.htm
Palahiora had an average of 20.1ºC in 2011.

Ierapetra 19.5ºC

Awesome, a city on the continent was warmer than the southern coast of an island placed further to the South!
Sorry for my poor English, It's not my native language

Well apart from your poor English there is something wrong with your reading comprehension as well.
1. Ian uses the data of HNMS for Palaiohora (I know big shock right?) He only uses NOA data when HNMS is out.Ian out of a total of 11 months so far how many days have you used NOA data for Palaiohora?
2.What part of my sentence that 2011 has been the coldest year in Greece from 2000 didnt you get? I am sure I can say it in Spanish so you can get it.
3.Do you really believe that there is the slightest chance that Seville is warmer than Palaiohora on mean annual temps on a long term basis? Compare the Seville data with Palaiohora for any other year apart 2011 (hello as I said the coldest in a decade in Greece)and see what happens
and most importantly do you want us to use a Spanish translator for you?
Btw Athens in 2010 had a mean annual of 20.15C! So what?Does it make it warmer than Palaiohora?

If you look at the figures from NOA properly Palaiohora had an annual mean of 20.3C NOA`s mean is used differently to Ogimet, divide the mean max and mean min we come up with 20.3C the same method which is used for Sevilla San Pablo. Ierapetra`s is actually 19.7C.
