2011 - rainfall accumulations for the year

I expect that there is quite a variance around the UK and Ireland but here it is a rather dry start to the year despite well above normal total for January.  Please post your own site totals in whatever way that you can.

Here is my breakdown for the year so far, plenty of time of course for the situation to turn around completely

March...............22.5mm (27%)
April.................31.8mm (55%)
May (to 11th)...24.4mm (119%)

Year to date.....313.2mm (96%)

55% of the yearly total so far fell in February

For here to date:

January = 114.1mm (129.5%)
February = 80.5mm (122.5%)
March = 20.3mm (35.7%)
April = 6.5mm (12.4%)
May (to 12th) = 24.6mm (111.7%)

Year to 30th April = 221.4mm (84.1%)

134mm YTD, doesn't include readings less than 1mm. Until last weekend was sitting on 110mm

JAN: = 42.5mm
FEB: = 81.3mm
MAR: = 7.2 mm
APR: = 7.3mm
MAY: = 7.2mm (Up to the 12th)

Total so far: 145.5mm

So far here:

I've included 2010 so you can see there's been 7 below average months in a row. ( although ofcourse May is only half way through )

Only a 173.4MM Year To Date currently, which is well below the same point as last year which only managed 623.8mm in the whole year, which is only about 75% the norm!!!

Jan: 117.7 mm (98%)
Feb: 101.3 mm (117%)
Mar: 26.6 mm (33%)
Apr: 14.4 mm (23%)
May: 19.6 mm (34%)
Total: 279.6 mm

So far March, April and May have all been drier than last year.

I've plotted Huntsham data as a cumulative plot (a la Philip Eden). Shows the defficit against 71-00 average very well. Plotted are the 71-00 mean, 2010 and 2011 to date. For the time of year it is currentlly very dry! Currently second only to 1976 when by the end of May yearly rainfall here was 231.8mm.

Edit - data plotted to 16th May!

Jan = 87.8mm (~90% average)
Feb = 76.4mm (~125%)
Mar = 20.0mm (~30%)
Apr = 11.0mm (~20%)
May = 23.0mm (~25%)

141mm YTD doesn't include days less than 1mm, so likely to be closer to 150mm. Mar - May only 38mm, more like a Mediterrean summers rainfall..

Up to just 176.4mm, so a whole 3mm in the past 16days.
