A very pleasant month with lots of fine weather. Some cool nights make it my coolest July on record with a below 16C average. No 25C reached in the month which is a first since 2007, but July 2011 was a good summer month, ranking 6/20 in my all time summer month league.

12 rain days and below average rainfall.

0 days thunder.

July 2011 followed a similar pattern to June with the warmest and driest weather at the beginning and end of the month. The period of 6th to 23rd was marked by cool temperatures day and night, cloudy and very showery conditions interspersed with just a few fine days. As a result the monthly mean temperature was 1.7 °C below average and it was the coolest July here since 1988. However, a dry last week meant that the monthly rainfall total ended just below average. On the whole the month was cloudy with sunshine hours only around 80% of normal ( nearest official recording at East Malling was 187.8 hours ).
