Well here we go again following on from the 2010-2011 thread

http://www.ukweather...38815&posts=496

The first table is how it all ended 2010-2011 the second table is the start of this new challenge. Not a good start for London and the Home counties though with coastal south and southwest fairing better

Cheers Liz

Would anyone have an objection if I included Jersey Airport and Guensey Airport, just purely for comparable reasons and would not actually count at the end of the trial.

Here is some info i got from WMO on  annual mean temps

See http://worldweather.wmo.int/010/m010.htm

London Mean 10.96C TM 14.38C Tm 7.54C

St Marys Mean 11.48C TM 13.73C Tm 9.23C

Jersey   Mean 11.76C TM 14.67C Tm 8.86C

Guernsey Mean 11.03C TM 13.39C Tm 8.66C

Ach, it a conspiracy to stop the london stations being at the top of the table!.. Seriously I have always wondered how much warmer the channel islands were so they are a good inclusion.

Here are todays figures not a good day for the SW with 100% cloud cover all day, suppressing the temps

Not much in the way of temperature range today with very mild minimums and cool maximums. From 1st to last just 1.4C in it for todays means. St Mary`s up another place ;)Attached Image: ScreenShot616.gif

Annual average is currently on 9.7C here, we may touch 10C in the next few weeks, but clearly November and December will soon have it down again even if near normal. October is usually around 10C av.

Well as images did not get migrated across during the forum update, here is how last year ended which was run from 1st Sept 2010 and ended 31st August 2011. I have since started a new one which started 1st September 2011 and will run until 31st August 2012 and have included Jersey and Guernsey.

Last years Final Means 1.9.2010 to 31.8.2010

Not a very good day especially for the Capital, who had slightly cooler minimums, as a result London propped up the rest today.

Attached Image: ScreenShot644.gif Bit of a mixed bag today but one thing noticeable is the channel islands didnt do too well. Plymouth however did at last having been in the bottom half of the daily table

I really must check my tables after posting, St Marys and Plymouth data not shown. They are in fact neck and neck and can not separate them. Revised table below

Some very mild minimums this morning for this group ranging from 15.2C @ Gravesend to 16.8C at Jersey Airport.

The warmest minimum for the UK as a whole was at St Helier on Jersey with 17.1C. Warmest on the mainland was 16.8C @ Exeter Airport.

Have been impressed by the minimums lately and if we look at the mean across the board, these are the sort of minimums we should of been averaging in July which we didn`t get. St Catherine`s Point averaging over 15C mean min after 9 days.

Even warmer minimums this morning ranging from 15.9C @ St Mary`s to 17.8C at Jersey Airport.

Jersey however has had to give way to Gravesend and give up its 4th place. All in all a good day for the Capital
