Here is the last 2 days worth, The south west fairing much better than the SE which is normally the case during winter cold spells, with the SE closer to the continent. St Mary`s still hasn`t recorded an air frost

St Mary`s certainly making the most of this cold spell in trying to get ahead - much milder in the SW

Much milder for everywhere over the last couple of days. Camborne has knicked 6th place off of the Solent

Unlucky 13 for St Mary`s having had the warmest maximum for the last 12 days, yesterday Solent knocked it off its perch, in fact St Mary`s had the 2nd coldest maximum from this group. St Catherine`s recorded the coldest minimum from the group, this is the first time this has happened since i started this on September 1st.

Nice to see Guernsey is just edging out Jersey, I suspect it will change in a month or so. Some of the results are quite surprising. Looking forward to the final outcome. Well done Ian, keep it going...a new "not the CET" on the making !
Cheers,
Paul D

Cheers Paul, Thanks for the comments, it is nice to know you are following the thread - it feels a bit lonely in here at times lol

St Mary`s back on top for yesterday. London let down by much cooler minimums than the rest.

Unfortunately the table images have disappeared from last year's run and the dates of the posts too, but it looks like at this time last year as far as I can tell St Mary Scilly had a lead of 1.5 °C over Portland in second place. So it does look as though St Mary will struggle to hold onto first place - unless we have another -ve NAO summer!

Never Fear i am here, lmao - Ok after some careful copying, pasting etc i have the figures for this time last year, and yes Dave your right St Mary`s did have a 1.5C lead at this stage, column A is from Sept 2010 to 17th Feb 2011 and column B is a reminder how it all ended up.

Nice one Ian, so St James Park was roughly 1.8C behind compared to 1.2C this year. Looks like it will take something pretty unusual like long term instrument failure for St James Park not to bound up to first place by September (not that I advocate sabotage of course!).

OK Have done this better,

Column A = September 1st 2010 to February 17th 2011
Column B = September 1st 2011 to February 17th 2012
Column C = Final table September 1st 2010 to August 31st 2011

As you can see there is a big difference in temperatures compared with this time last year - much milder this time aroun
d.

Somewhat of a winter rarity with the 4 London/Kent inland locations being the warmest yesterday

London and Gravesend have blown the rest out of the water yesterday, although Camborne can prop its head up reasonably high, lol All 4 actually increased their accumulative mean by 0.02C
