P.S Guernsey has just pipped St Catherines Point into 3rd place by the narrowest of margins
Also note that a few stations from this group yesterday did not have any maximum synop codes at 18Z so have had to use the hourly maxes instead so a small disadvantage for those, they are highlighted under the max temps in the last chart in yellow text instead of white

Cheers Dave, compiling these threads can be a lonely existence at times lol. If we look at all 3 winter months, St Mary`s had an impressive over 10C mean maximum for each month!

We are still at risk for very cold nights, especially with the high likely to park over here for a while. That should give some advantage to the coastal areas for a while. But the Equinox is not so far away and that I think is when things might start changing.

When looking at the means ranging from bottom place to top ranging from 9.5C to 11.5C after 6 months, these means wouldn`t look out of place after a full year, but with the 6 warmest months to come this could be a record breaking 12 months and i can see many of these obtaining a 12 month mean of over 12C, which is very rare and I have only ever recorded that once for St Germans since 1996, when in 1999 i had an annual mean of 12.02C, of course this was January to December inclusive, but this shouldn`t matter at the end of the day a rolling 12 months is ..... 12 months!
Below is last years final table from September 1st 2010 to August 31st 2011 alongside this years since September 1st or a tadge after 6 months - comparing them you should see what I mean. Oh and Guernsey has re-taken 3rd again from St Catherine`s Point alot of see - sawing and jostling between these two for 3rd place at the moment

Look at the difference between Culdrose and Camborne a distance of only 9.5 miles away from each other as the crow flies but the latter enjoying a 2.7C advantage over Culdrose

Back to this group, The Solent had the warmest minimum on the 17th this was the first time that has happened since 26th September!! Plymouth has had the warmest maximum 2 days running, the last time that happened was on the 20th/21st November.
St James Park has just nudged the Solent from 8th place as it starts to do its climb up the table, a sure winner of this I would of thought, unless Summer 2012 turns out to be really pants!
