Ok, couple of issues. Whilst trying to write about an issue in the fast reply section I didn't realise I wasn't logged in. For some reason, every time I close my browser it logs me out. I was writing away about an issue, as 'fast reply' would allow me to type in the box, and then got a 500 server error. This is when I realised I wasn't logged in. The website shouldn't let you type unless you are logged in.

Anyway, that aside I was writing to say that I can't use Multiquote. I presume this allows you to quote more than one person. When I click on it, it does nothing. So when I go to quote someone that has quoted someone else I can only use the reply tab which only quotes the one person?

I also have a 'loading...' box in green at the top centre of the page when I click on the forum page

To use multiquote utility see my post #11 in http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/86403-new-forum-quick-hints-and-tips-thread/

Dear UKWW staff. I currently have a problem opening my notification to thread, links that i receive??

I have set my account to receive notifications from certain forums via email. When I get the updates the link will not work and just feezes? This problem has been ongoing since the forum was updated!

Any ideas?

Cheers in advance

PM me your new email address and i'll change it for you, and also investigate why you can't change it.

Hi all,

I can't sign in on the new system under my old username, Jan.

I have had to sign up as a new person through facebook, Jan Bromley.

Can this be solved?

Thanks
Jan

From the front page of UKww http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk

If your old username and password doesn't work, click "forgot my password" under the sign-in fields.

Type in your username (not email address) and click proceed.

Go to your email account where, shortly, an email should appear from the forum. Click the link at bottom.

Enter and re-enter your new password, when you proceed you might hit a "500 server error". Don't worry.

Retype www.ukweatherworld.co.uk in your browser address bar and follow the forum sign-up link, enter your profile name/username and new password.

Alternatively, send an email to forum@ukweatherworld and we can reset your password

All done now, the reason you were getting the error message is because the other account you'd registered "Tony" was using it ;)

Deleted that account now and changed your email address on your current user account.

Thanks Dave. I originally temporarily set up the other account as a means of getting back into the forum after the forum had switched server. I obviously forgot that it still existed and caused a problem ;)

Perhaps it has always been there since the switch to the new forum, but I am seeing a 'warn status' that I do not recall seeing before...

Am I being paranoid ?

The old threads that we're imported lost some data on conversion, we we're running ancient software, and dates on converted threads didn't import over.

This is a shame: any chance the dates on old threads can be separately copied over in the future? [Thanks for all the hard work BTW!]

The correct data is there, we just need Stu to sort out the file so it recognises the date. It was about 107k threads, and if you're offering to do it?:D

Not exactly a technical issue but why does using UKWW keep filling up my offline cache with requests to Facebook? Ths is just a part of the URL below (it's much, much longer)

It's the same on Firefox and IE8, I don't use Facebook at all so I'm not sure why it keeps checking for a login status? I have literally thousands of these entries needlessly filling up the cache (unless I clear it manually). Any way to stop it?

I have recently found an issue with the link address in notifications. If you follow the link, the page just hangs and you have to go into the relevant forum the long way round.

One from today is:

www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=87634&view=getnewpost

This is supposed to be the Cold Front Tuesday 29th November 2011 thread.

cutting and pasting that text into my browser works fine. Is the HTML "under" that text ok? Not quite sure what's been posted...
