Hi all. I have a trip to Morocco coming up in about 2 weeks and am looking to purchase a new camera. I am currently using a Canon Powershot S3 IS which is a decent compact but I am starting to find it limiting. However, being still not a fantastic photographer I don't really want to purchase a new DSLR or spend much more than around £80.

I was wondering whether anybody here has an old DSLR sitting around gathering dust that would like to see put to good use. I may be a poor 22 year old who cannot afford decent gear but I am hugely passionate about the weather and about photography, and your camera would be used practically every day until it falls apart :)

I am obviously happy to buy a camera regardless of condition as long as it still functions properly. I'm probably after anything about 5MP and up, although if you can really make the case that your 4MP DSLR takes incredible photos and has amazing features than I might be persuaded!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this!

Hi Jez,

Have a wee look at this place:

I have purchased bits and bobs from them in the past and cant complain about any of it. Happy hunting.

I always used to browse the LCE shop in Bristol, will give it another look now!

Anyone looking for a good quality compact, look no further than the two I'm selling to raise funds...

A Canon 350D (with 18-55mm lens) on ebay here is a good buy currently at £82 (although has 20 hours or so left but could get for £100 ish):

Thanks Chris, I have been looking at Canon's 300D and 350D, but their Buy It Now price is normally around £180 so I'm sceptical about it selling for such a low amount at auction. If I manage to sell both of the compacts listed then I will be able to afford something in the region of £200 so am either looking at a 350D or a 20D, haven't decided which yet!

I will keep an eye on that auction though, if it does end up finishing around £100 then that's very good news indeed!

Done :)

Sold my Powershot S3IS for £125, then bought a Nikon D50 with a 28-80AF for £205. Arrived this morning, and it's beautiful. Looking forward to seeing some interesting weather and putting it to the test!

Thanks guys
