Some of the English stations got their revenge yesterday (23rd) on their counterparts, mainly Scotland, but not enough for any real positioning gains

Loch Glascarnoch the only station to register an air frost, which meant the others all piled the unwanted points on, 6 of the stations had double digit minimums!

Much colder yesterday with 11 of the 20 stations activating Icebox Britain, a few having their coldest minimums to date. Loch Glascarnoch recording the UK`s coldest minimum of the season to date, with -6.8C. Only one change in the table though between 8th and 9th

Tulloch Bridge was the only station from this group to have an air frost, very slight one at that.

Nearly had a full house of Air frosts yesterday with 19/20, Exeter let it down with the only place from this group not to have one. No changes in the table though (again). The UK saw its coldest night, with Braemar hitting -7.8C our coldest Temp of the season sofar.

Below is the chart for a trip down memory lane, OK, OK, for this time last year, note by then we were on Day 77 of air frosts and take a look at the absolute minimums compared with this years chart
, this year we are only on Day 27, some 50 less air frost days to this point!

Aviemore had the coldest minimum to date from this group and equalled the coldest in the UK this season along with Braemar also -8.7C yesterday morning. Aviemore now up to 2nd place. For the last 12 Icebox activations Exeter Airport has not recorded a single air frost, the most consecutively in this group. The most consecutive air frosts from Icebox activation is 6 days and that is L. Glascarnoch and Aviemore
