No, sorry mate i am going to stick with the original plan and after all, meteorologically speaking the whole months of December, January and February are classed as winter in the northern Hemisphere of Europe.

Here are two pictures that I had already put into a thread some time ago (before the new forum was created), I'm posting them again because I love the very southerly atmosphere that emanates from them.
Aren't these banana trees in the background of the second photo ?
Penzance, on the main territory :

Sorry for the off-topic...

The growm from their seeds, and propagate very successfully...the same with Acacia Mimosa, Washingtonia Rubusta and the Agave cactus.
Well...in Pt temps are recovering...but they have been up to 2ºC below avg for the month...
Next week will be milder..with temps up to 22-24ºC in the warmer spots around the 23rd.

Indeed, the Isles of Scilly are doing very well in the winter, it's not surprising that some Phoenix canariensis can be found there and even on the main territory of the UK.

Close to the Morrab Gardens are the Penlee Memorial Park where fifteen acres of open parkland host a small open air theatre, tennis courts, children's play area, an adventure park and a football field. Located within the Penlee Park grounds is the Penlee House Gallery & Museum.
On the outskirts of the town, about two miles north and near to the village of Madron are Trengwainton Gardens - owned and managed by the National Trust. Here there are spectacular displays of rhododendrons, azaleas and other plants from the Far East, New Zealand and North America all in the grounds of a large mansion.
