A couple of pictures to show the snow left on the ground after last nights snowfall.
Theres a contrast between the little bit on pen y fan and much more on the black mountain, even though pen y fan is 300' or so higher.

Nice shots mate - I wonder if the top of Plynlimon had a dose too? Here, a vile night is setting in with relentless fairly heavy rain. Makes me feel inclined to hibernate!

A light dusting on the Beacons most days since the 2nd.
The 1st picture taken today, 10th at 3pm.... There was snow yesterday and overnight yet there was a lot of hail showers too.
The 2nd, just outside the Beacons at Llangammarch wells taken on the 6th .

Nice selection showing the evolution of conditions. I like particularly the one with the contrasting larches and the one with blowing snow.

Cheers Rob... even if its not true I have learnt why the Larch was so revered on monty python!... it catches fire in some sorts of light at this time of year.

... I wasn't able to take any from a similar position today so here are a couple of Pen-y-Fan & Pics ddu (as you can see from the time - light was poor) as seen in Brecon.

A few dullish ones for today .... The 1st of a meto campbell-stokes sun-gauge stand erected in the early 60's by the Meto... then then (16 b)the nearest to seeing Pen y Fan today, the summit was always shy throughout. And a few more.

The glaciers left some nice cliffs just for snow blowing!

Today was dank as dank could be , and these two pictures taken late in the day , almost past dusk, depict the mild air arriving from the west.. the windward sides show least snow with temps rising from 1°C to 7°C along with over 12mm of rain. Taken from Llangorse looking WWS toward pen y fan.

I get a smile every day I see snow - and living here its most days during the winter. Every day since early Dec, even if it is only drifts in gullies.

Nice shots Andy! Last time I climbed these was in early Dec. There was snow up there, above 700m, but you couldn't see more than 50m as warm advection from the SW was forming extensive low cloud/fog over the summit!

Hi Matt ... Missed your post, its an age thing!.... still worth without the view though... even the smell is good. ... I bet it was just the last few hundred feet though.

......... so there's some folk up on the summint in the last photo here that could see well to the north & west but not south and east!

4th was the last time I saw snow on the mountains... thats 22 days of winter without eeek.
