The old BBC weather maps were so much clearer and better.... why did they fix what wasn't broken?

That 1987 forecast didn't look very festive at all, infact, if Ian hadn't pull that cracker and you just watched that forecast alone, you would have never guessed it was Christmas.

Wow this brings back memories! I'd forgotten all about David Braine and Peter Cockroft. Perhaps we should have a "Where Are They Now" style thread for ex-BBC weather forecasters.
