Bright right-sided parhelion observed 1605Z-1615Z 5 November in thick cirrus to the west associated with shower activity over Wales. Only red colouring on the inside was noted, the rest was pretty much white.

Bright orange-red sunrise observed just before sunrise 6 November caused by layer of altocumulus at around 15,000 ft. Shame it covered up quickly by lower cloud.

There was a brief glimpse of a 22 degree halo in between the clouds albeit weakly at 1100Z. It was caused by dense cirrostratus which proceeded to thicken as the warm front pushed south with rain/drizzle occurring no more than an hour later.

A green flash was observed, a delayed one, at 0728Z 11 November 2012. The sun was already a quarter up when it occurred. The upper limb of the sun must have passed through a layer of the atmosphere that caused the late flash.

A very weak 22 degree halo was observed during the morning in thin cirrus ahead of a warm front and also during the afternoon as high cloud began to spread in earnest. No colour was noted. Some of the cirrus could have come from cumulonimbus activity but I think this is unlikely.

A faint, pale white, aureole was observed involving Jupiter on the night of 12 November 2012 roughly 1/2 degree in diameter. It was observed between 2100 UT - 2200 UT. It seemed to change shape in the quick evolving stratocumulus.

Stunning and vivid green flash at sunset this evening which started before the sun had completely set.
