Looking for a bit of reassurance that I've set everything up ok with my Davis VP2+

In addition to the ISS (inc. Solar Radiation & UV Sensors) and Anemometer (via Transmitter Kit) I have installed a Wireless Leaf & Soil Moisture / Temperature Station.

Connect to this station I have, two temperature proble (one for grass tip temperature and one for soil (10cm) temperature), 1 soil moisture sensor and 1 leaf wetness sensor.

The soil temperature and soil moisture senors are paired and both connected to their respective terminal 1 locations within the solar unit.
The ground temperature is connected on it's own into terminal 2
And finally the leaf wetness sensor is connected to it's own specific terminal 1 location.

Now, this all seams to work absolutely fine - I can view all of the values from each of these sensors on the Davis Console exactly where I would expect them.

My problem appears via Weather Display - again most of the time these values are displayed correctly (although the soil moisture value does not move much - it's been 9 or 10 all winter - but it is Scotland so probably correct )
But viewed through Weather Display at the turn of each minute the soil temperature jumps to 8C (8.3C to be precise) and then back to its correct value.
For Example: 22:50:59 - soil temp = 2C / 22:51:00 - soil temp = 8C / 22:51:01 - soil temp = 2C

Unfortunately this jump in temperature registers in my max temperature records and is stored in the log files which I used to update my excel spreadsheets with.
This max value is not recorded within the Davis Console.max/min values.

I've logged an issue via the Weather Display forum but I've not had a solution (in two months) to what I believe is a software problem - however, it has been suggested that it could be a hardware problem or configuration problem.

I would be very grateful if those in the know here could verify my setup and agree / disagree with my assumption that this is a weather display software bug.

If I've missed out any information - please let me know and I'll post back.

I have done, issue has been outstanding for 2 months now - what I'm looking for here is confirmation that the hardware configuration I have setup for my Davis Leaf/Soil Moisture/Soil & Ground Temperature sensors is correct. Basically discounting any possibility that this is a hardware problem.

Sorry - you did say that now I come to look more closely. No obvious reason at all why this should be a hardware problem if the console is reporting OK. The other obvious test would be to run the WL software for a trial period. If that shows the 6345 Temps to be OK then I'd have thought it very likely to be a WD issue.

Thanks John - I'll fire up WL for a short period and see if the values come through ok - I assume you can't run WD and WL at the same time given that they would be trying to access the same COM Port channel. I feed my weather data to my website 24/7 and record minute by minute values into Excel Spreadsheets so would not want to turn off WD for long.

I have the exact same setup Colin, albeit with an original Vantage Pro +.
I use Weatherlink and Cumulus and all readings are correctly shown/recorded so for me it's looking like a WD issue.

Not unless you use Virtual VP, which is an excellent utility but does have its own small learning curve. There's a 30-day free trial at:

if you're interested to take a look. But for just a short test then you might prefer just to switch to WL alone temporarily.

Looks like an interesting utility but as you say I'll probably not install it and set it up for a short test run in this instance - plan to do this test over the weekend.
