Now dropped below zero here, -0.1 °C at 16:20. Could be down below -7 °C in places in the morning - not sure if it merits a temperature watch thread tonight...?

I think it does, some of the N24 forecasts have hinted at -10C in some rural areas in the south.

Cranwell reporting -3C at 1550Z

Can't see it dropping too much here unless the wind totally drops or shifts away from a ESE.

I'm alread at -1.4°C - some cloud cover seems to have inhibited the temperature fall - but the cloud thatis in situ at the mo, isnt going to be around for much longer and, to use a phrase oft used by the media, temperatures will plummet. Looking at -6°C to -10°C - tonight.

Some cold temperatures on the RWS network in the East Midlands and East Anglia. Bythorn on the A14 was at -10.8C at 1920 while Sibson on the A1 was next lowest at -8.6C. Both these stations are covered by the Highways Agency Area 7 network which at the moment also shows some stations further west at values above zero. Top of the tree is Burton at 1.1C.
