April 2000 was an exceptionally wet month for April, it is the wettest April on record for England and Wales. At the start of the month, there was a wet snowfall across parts of England and Wales bringing an unwelcome reminder of winter after what was a largely snowless winter.

This was at the time the wettest April on record for England and Wales until surpassed by April 2012
