Maybe, though I think they are still waiting for the sun to come out ... on the 09z vis sat it looked pretty cloudy in Aberdeenshire though the resolution is very poor.

Those overnight temps in NE Scotland are some of the most remarkable I've seen in the UK.

Link below shows how the temp shot up through the night at Aberdeen, went from 9.9C at 2am to 16.1C at 4am. You can have whole summers where the temp is never that high at that time.

Yes pretty incredible. Though I think the Cape Wrath December temperature record 17.7c recorded at 7.30am still ranges as one of Scotlands finest temperature records..

Dull overcast in Aberdeen this afternoon. Skies don't appear to be breaking as was forecast, but even so the temperature at Dyce has climbed to 16.4C @ 1300hrs.

I may have to don shorts at this rate :D

Well it reached a max of 14.7c here today at 1322z, although it felt warmer in the sun.
Currently 12.9c and dropping under clear skies.

Unexpectedy cool here today. Reached 10.5°C, which makes it one of the cooler days of the last week. No sunshine at all.

Think that's the warmest temp in Scotland in February since 1974 when 17.5C was recorded

21st Feb 17.5 Banchory (Aberdeenshire) 1974

With the 16.1 deg. c. at Aberdeen (Dyce) at 4 am on 28th, it is amazing that the February record of 17.9 deg. C. (which was in the 19th century I believe) was not breached as it rose only another 1.1 deg. C. to 17.2 deg. C., still exceptionally high for February. I do not know what the highest in Scotland in February 1998 was (when the British record for February, of 19.7 deg. C. was recorded on 13th, the same day as the Northern Ireland record of 17.8 deg. C. at Bryansford, Co. Down) but it is possible yesterday's figure is the highest in Scotland since the 17.5 deg. C. at Banchory, Aberdeenshire, on 21st February 1974 mentioned above.

The overall range of temperature in Britain this February is at least from -15.6 deg. C. to +18.7 deg. C. (i.e. 34.3 deg. C. or 61.7 deg. F., although as there are claimed temperatures down to 1-8.4 deg. C. (in Surrey) and -18.3 deg. C.
