These forecasts illustrate quite well how things have changed in recent years.
Summer 2002 wasn't seen as a particularly good one at the time... yet a 30C temp seems almost unreal these days, particularly in the context of this year.
And even in the more changeable interludes, the temps are reaching the low 20s in S England with ease.
Such conditions were typical of the 1989-2006 period: you used to be able to rely on 21C across southern England in July and August on the majority of days - not any more it seems.
