In a clear sunny slot since 13hrs the temp here has rocketed to 15.9C

In contrast, it's just 10.3C here which is the max so far. Has been cloudy all day until a short time ago, now quite bright with a few glimpses of sunshine.

So to put that contrast into perspective, 'just 10.3C' is still above the late Feb average so no real quibbles with that.

15c here in tivy today with some lovely warm sunshine is our highest temp of the year so far.

Suspect a gentle fohn effect in lee of Welsh mountains. Light southerly breeze and actually feels quite warm even in the shade. Very few clouds in sky still. Temp peaked at 16.2C around 14hrs and has now fallen back to 14.9C. Can't remember another February .with 2 days over 16C here

Half an hour of sunshine sent the temp briefly up to 12.3C soon after my previous post.
