Heavy wet snow in Reading giving a covering on grass and cars, roofs etc in 15 minutes - wasn't expecting this!

Rain, and Sleet; has just turned more to snow as I write 13.17). Not surprisingly given the recent rain, it's not settling. Ground must be relatively warmer as well.

Current temperature: 2.2C
Trend: -1.9C/Hr

Just arrived home in Fleet after driving from Wimbledon. It was +10 on the car temp when I left and only +2.5 back here with full on snow now. Amazing difference across a small distance.

Yesterday: 14.00 it was 13C
Today: 14.00 it's 1C

Quite a contrast

Still heavy snow fall. Not settling.

moderate/heavy sleet here now for the past 15 mins...the heavier bursts obviously have the greater snowflakes within...and as reported by others flakes are large. Temperature is +3.2°C having fallen from 8.3°C at 12:30.

Snow early morning settled briefly at this level and above 1500' or so at mid-morning, level retreated to 2000' by mid afternoon but some recent snow showers have bought back down again.... some snow lying in the garden too but less than 1%.

Snow settled on tops above 1500ft here in the Peak District. Quite a good covering over Brown Knoll/Kinder Scout too.

Some snow here, but only a bit laid...oddly, just up the road in Mildenhall, despite being the same elevation as here its been snowing for about 2 hours and everything is covered, approaching an inch.
