Welcome to the 2012 monthly UK weather photo competition :)

Please read the following guidelines before entering:

  • Max of 2 photos can be entered per person.
  • These must have been taken sometime during this month/year in The UK and be entirely your own work.
  • Usual forum rules apply regarding posting of photos IE: no bigger than 800 pixels tall/wide and under 300kb. Free resizing software is available to download from here and there is an extensive UKww guide which can be found here.
  • When entering please try to include a brief description for each photo IE what/where/when. How - is optional [y]
  • Please also remember this is a weather photo comp and therefore refrain from entering video grabs/fabricated or composite images/ non weather related material as this will just spoil the competition for others :o
  • Photos can be entered up to Midday on the 1st of next month. If any problems are encountered before this time please don't hesitate to contact me or any other Mod/Manager for help. In unusual circumstances an extension may be given...
  • Once the competition is closed this thread will be frozen and a seperate voting thread will be opened where all Ukweatherworld member are invited to vote.
  • Finally the most important rule - enjoy getting out there and photographing whatever the UK weather throws at us. Even if the weather's boring, the photograph may not be [y]

Lets make this forum a showcase for UK weather photography!
:D

OK lets get this months entries started....Wow, get me... an entry in March, that must be a first lol OK here's a little snap i took up at Tongue in Scotland. Crepuscular rays breaking through the cloud base illuminating the falling precip. Might have a 2nd to add before the time limit expires. Shot came out pretty much monochromatic so finished off in PS to make it B&W throughout & cropped.

Haven't had much time for photography this month, planning to do a lot more in April though so fingers crossed the weather co-operates!
1st: Golden early evening fossil-hunting at Lyme Regis
2nd: Clouds over Avebury. Wish I had the patience/time to clone out those people...

My two from this month. First was taken on the 11 March, the first day with decent sunshine and temperature for a long time. Taken at Port Eynon in the Gower:

OK here's my second entry for this month. Taken along the A838 as a low hanging rain/sleet/snow maker passed in front of me over Loch Eriboll. Loved the regression & tried my best to capture it. Cropped & levels adjusted slightly in PS.
