The northward flow of Gulf moisture on the flank of a strong trough is trundling a squall line through Louisiana at the moment, with subsequent heavy rain and sporadic tornado warnings. Overnight to 12z today, estimates are as much as 10" (>250mm) has fallen, with 8.46" at (Fort?) Polk. Flooding has already been reported in places, with areas east of NOLA at risk into tomorrow. Some waterway traffic has been suspended, and damage to infrastructure from flash floods has also occurred. (All links are to media articles)
