The North Sea must be cold near the continent...currently just 3c at Westerland-Sylt.

The CEFAS Smartbuoy moored at the Mersey Bar Light is currently offline, but the Barrow Waverider buoy is online and currently reporting a sea surface temperature of 7.65C which is pretty representative of Liverpool Bay waters.

Edit: current buoy sites bordering UK coasts are all around 7-8C. The highest SSTs are off the Hebrides with around 9C. The influence of the Gulf Stream is obvious.

Highest synop maxes were St Helier , Jersey.. 21.2, Mona (Angelsey) 21.1C and Trawscoed 21.0C

Remains to be seen what Goggerdan and Portmadog reached.. my gut feeling is 22.2C wasnt breached todaY

Only crept up here - didn't reach 9C until after midday. Fog! Suspect tomorrow will be the same.

Max was 14C at 3.30pm.
