I found Jupiter through the telescope finder (8X40) at around 14Z, lost it due to an issue with the tripod plus the fact I could not get it into the main eye piece, and it has taken me this long to find it again (1530Z). Again, I could see one of the bands on the disk through the telescope. Just a matter of patience and remaining cool, not great virtues of mine. Also, had a good look at Venus (half-phase) as well as daytime/twilight is really the best time to look at it.

Just managed to find it too. It took a few minutes, but then quite obvious once i'd found it.

Here we go, Venus by day... the camera with telephoto couldn't pick up more than a point of light really, but worth recording for posterity! In the 2nd shot is its position relative to the moon... it's in the same position relative to the top right, as the moon is to the bottom left and if it takes a bit of squinting to see it, then you're sharing in the experience! Both taken around 13Z today when they were at about 50º inclination...

A poor quality image of Jupiter taken through the telescope at around 1530Z although I'm lucky to catch anything at all!. Should have done Venus as well, I guess.

2 more from this evening. How fortunate the weather has been crystal clear aswell as warm for this second conjunction. A quick jog up the hill with the DSLR was a must tonight, for the final 'grand finale' of the Moon passing the Pleiades.
