1. Andujar
2. Montoro
3. Lorca
4. La Rambla
5. Sevilla
6. Mengíbar
Considerations for Portugal i have a few ideas but if Francesco (Stormy) and Costa would like to give their options that would be great, ones i am considering are
1. Amareleja
2. Reguengos
3. Pinhao Santa Barbara
4. Elvas
5. Alcacer do Sol
For Greece and hopefully Pit can help me with this i am looking at the following
1. Megara
2. Athens Thiseio
3. Sivas (interior Crete)
4. Athens Filadelfeia
5. Athens Elefsina
For Italy and France i need more help please
After agreeing the stations i would like to start a trial, purely for looking at the reliability of the stations, do not want sporadic readings and i will probably run this for the whole month of April.

Ian, you might be surprised that Firenze / Florence actually has higher average maxes for summer than Trapani and Cagliari (and Rome or Naples for that matter).
And for a "wildcard" how about Podgorica in Montenegro or Skopje in FYROM?

Well, there is all the same a problem with France in summer:
while Le Luc, Carpentras, Conqueyrac, Les Arcs-sur-Argens and co. do have very high maxes, they "suffer" from having pretty cool minis. On the other hand, if we pick up stations that have very high minis (for instance Menton, Nice), they "suffer" from having pretty cool maxes.
As a consequence, in France, you can't have your cake and eat it, that is you can't have both high minis and high maxes, which is a problem to compete here.
What do you think, Ian, Dave?
Oh, and is it possible to include stations that are not present on Ogimet, like Menton, Conqueyrac?

The minima don't matter here though as Ian wants only to use the daily maxima

Hi Morgane so those 4 stations you mention above, do you want me to use them? and yes you can include stations from meteoclimat, no problem if you can stretch it to 5 or 6 stations that would be great

I've made my list for the European Summer MAX Challenge:
So, I've chosen 3 stations from Météo-Climat and 3 stations that also appear on OGIMET, for an easier use for you:
Le Luc (Var) (OGIMET)
Carpentras (Vaucluse) (OGIMET)
Nîmes-Courbessac (Gard) (OGIMET) (don't take Nîmes-Garons, this one is cooler)
Conqueyrac (Gard) (Météo-Climat)
Les Arcs-sur-Argens (Var) (Météo-Climat)
Manosque (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) (Météo-Climat)
Ian, when you search Météo-Climat, please choose the right department, for an easier use and a quicker loading.
Here the three most important links (I've put the settings on 1st January 2012 21:00 UTC, MAX temperatures in decreasing order - you will just have to change the dates)
GARD department (link)
VAR department (link)
ALPES-de-HAUTE-PROVENCE department (link)

Hope this won't be too much work for you?
If I remember well, you're leaving for the USA in May/June, just before the challenge starts?
