Hi Wiseacre, no idea for the precise location, but it should possibly be between continental France and Corsica.
Regarding the scale, it would be (if it's finally done) about 9,375 km² (3,620 sq.m). This is pretty big, about the size of the largest French departments.

Today marks the creation of the tenth French National Park. And guess where it is? In the Mediterranean sea, just in front of the (possible) future project!

Could this be an argument to stop that project? Nothing is less sure...

This park is named "Parc National des Calanques" and is situated south-east of Marseilles.
