Some very bright blobs on the radar in my vicinity just to the south, but nothing to show for it other than some large Cu con, a rather dark sky and a few spits and spots of rain.

Temperatures now reaching 10-11C which is starting to get the convection firing around here. 12-13C should see some impressive CB's.

The Manchester cell firing off again, looks quite impressive on Sat24 :)

Another angry blob right over the top of us now on the radar - but again it's just a little dark and with some light rain. Haven't heard any thunder yet today.

GFS showing a bubble of decent CAPE and LI right upwind of me in N. Hants... going to make a play and head out with a camera, waterproof and some sandwiches. Fingers crossed today is even more photogenic than yesterday!

Showers forming in lines again, though oriented more NW-SE than yesterday's W-E. I wish I knew why lines formed!

I have a feeling the cell over the NW has been aided by the peak district - giving it extra "oomph"

Had a big hail storm in Axminster about 30 mins ago, left a layer of slush. No thunder though.

convergence at the surface or possibly uplift from mountains. Just look at those forming over Snowdonia.

I think other things can help - eg cities. Anything that helps kick it off.

In between the showers I've been out in the garden trimming my bush.

Any more will get added there.

Not alot of activity upwind of me now, hopefully it'll stay dry for the remainder of the day as I need to outside things tonight.

Just taken a pano with no less than 5 cb's present. Nothing in terms of thunderstorm action, but a really stunning day here in Hampshire.

Think the cell over Barnsley is going to catch the N of Sheffield and pass over Rotherham. Looks like a gust front forming.

I'm posting this here in the chat rather than definite reports because I'm not sure if it was a rumble of thunder we heard about 5 mins ago. Certainly the dog is behaving as if it was, and the clouds look promising. Perhaps someone else can confirm it

That cell looks pretty nasty, but has slipped off to the east heading for Worksop. We are just clipping the main line of showers now, which has lead to a mostly fine and occasionally sunny afternoon!

The real action looks to be around the vale of York this afternoon judging by radar, with a line of activity from Carlisle to the Humber. Something interesting over the Peak district and another area near bradford. Best stay away from me when I walk home at 5...

You'd be safe here in Doncaster!

Been watching big showers all afternoon both to the N and the S - but no precipitation at all has reached me...

T'other half reported a significant hail shower just N of Doncaster at around lunchtime.
