Here are two links we have used fairly consistently wrt Icelands seismic activity in the threads here. (We may want to consider setting up a sticky thread so we can post our geology references, your opinions?)

I think it is interesting that the indications appear to track the Sun with a few hours delay. I think Martyn may have the jist of it when he suggests it is likely a surface event or settling. It is interesting to note that these events appear to track air temperature extremes. If it were a indication of a deep core or magma event the amplitude markers would likely be closer together.

It's a blamy and wet 14c over Katla today; so could be summer melt and isostatic rebound? Unless there is a change to hydrostatic readings in the river run off I guess we'll never know one way or another.
Elsewhere, El Hierro continues to shake with over 2,000 quakes recorded since the swarm began on 24 June. All quakes deep and down in the MOHO mush at 18-22km, from the lighthouse at the western extremity of El Hierro across ESE into Las Calmas sea. There is no sign of magma on the move nearer the surface in tremor plots, no reports of gas emissions on land and no reports bar a false alarm, of vent based submarine de-gassing).

thanks Martyn, will be recording it. Worth mentioning that, here at least, it starts a 20:00.
