I'm still a beginner at night time photography, but I was pretty happy withe how these came out.

Posted Image You can probably consider yourself "intermediate" now mate. Cheers for those, I can't get enough of that lovely electric blue colour. [y]

Nice work getting pics of them on a phone too Andy! [y]

Those are really very good. Nothing amateur, or even intermediate about them. I was just outside looking to the north in what has been the first night since I can remember that there has been a bit of late dusky blue sky - but alas, no Nocti's. Still plenty of time yet.

I've seen plenty of good images of the NLC display of 24/25 June 2012 including on this forum. [y]

Not a negative sighting but cloud prevented viewing here both night/morning but no NLCs observed thorough any gaps in cloud.

A negative report though for 25/26 June for both periods.

Instead, got to see a nice sunrise and Venus for the first time since the transit. Telscope reveals a nice crescent.

Beautiful, clear pre-dawn sky, but sadly nothing observed. Possible Type I to the north 0220z, could just as easily have been crep rays? Posted Image

Only weak patches of noctilucent clouds observed during the small hours of 1 July. One patch was sighted (and confirmed with the aid of binoculars) at 0145Z, and two wisps at around 15 minutes later between 10-15 degrees in elevation. There seemed to be a very dim area of cloud about 25 degrees elevation above Capella at about 0230Z with a little details in the form of bands and a bit of tangledness (is that a word?) so that is a mystery. Nice to see Venus and Jupiter as a pair this morning, the latter for the first time since the spring.

As I said in my previous post, a lot of cloud drifted over, which is a shame, because this was another pretty bright event in north Norfolk...here is the best of the lot. (this was at about 0030 BST the night of the 1st/2nd). And just another one thrown in of the moon slightly covered by some altostratus at about the same time...

Should have said earlier... Friday/Saturday night hill-camping at Aberdaron - very starry and forced myself awake on several occasions during the pre-dawn slot, but no show.

Cheers - John

No show here for the last 3 nights although last night did seem to have a bit of an unusual glow to it.
