Isn't this just the poorest excuse for a funnel cloud? ..... I watched it for around 4 minutes before I remembered I had a compact camera in my pocket! ... so I took a couple of photos and then thought it worth getting the 7d... a couple of minutes later I returned with the Canon and it was still there but a bit more ragged by then.. after it retreated I took a photo of the Cb.
.
It was too far away for rotation to be visible but just the length of time it was there and how solid it was for the first few minutes was enough for me. But its disappointing it didn't develop further.

Number 4 ?? Can't see anything - there's a tree in the way !

Otherwise, poorest excuse ? I couldn't possibly comment :D But the World loves a tryer !

Well spotted Andy. Well sat least we know plenty of us are on the look out. Looks like that tree has its mouth wide open.

a crop from the compact... it was like this for around 3-4 minutes before this was taken. why didn't it rope down a bit?.

Well, I am not entirely convinced that this is a funnel cloud ( on this occasion I must add). Sorry Andy - just my opinion of course.
