Relative lack of heavy showers on the morrow and a dry Saturday should help sort things, Tim. The flood will hopefully go down as quickly as it came up.....

Eastern parts of Yorkshire are set to have the wettest April in record, apparently. Not sure if you're included in that area,Tim.

We've recorded 76.7mm so far this month. That's a lot compared to what we have been getting, but in the grand scheme of things, it isn't much. So I would guess we aren't included in that.
I am really surprised the river got that high from Wednesday's rain. I think it will go higher tomorrow morning, as it seems to have rained all day Thursday on the catchment too. It certainly did here.
I wonder if all the washlands have been closed off for spring/summer and the flow is a bit peakier? Dunno.

Certainly is much higher this morning very noticeable driving over St Georges bridge this morning, fair few onlookers aswell. Shouldn't get too much higher though so it shouldn't flood any housing etc.

Quite a few notable crests in river levels through the Midlands overnight. Matlock Baths in Derbyshire currently cresting again.
