just wondering if anyone local to Brede or the East Kent border had any first hand experience of the tornadic activity last wednesday the 25th.
i was working in a large metal barn at around 4.12 when a strong storm passed overhead.
immediately hail and instant strong winds battered the farm. i raced to the barn door to see approx 50mph wind whipping up the left side of the barn, but not the right. accross the road trees were bending over by almost half and it seemed something very dramatic was passing through the woods on the left side of the barn.
as soon as i started filming, the trees straightened and we watched the remaining high speed winds pass and drop.
the event lasted about 2 minutes.
i proceeded to chase the storm 50 miles north east to graveney.
on farm reports were one person huddled in the woods under a tree with other trees being snapped around her.
EDF confirmed out almost immediate loss of power was due to two power poles being snapped off.
was this just strong outflow?
would this blow forwards in the same direction as the storms track?
would it be near calm at our barn door and tree breakingly fast just 50m away to the left of the farm and 150m away at the tree line where the trees were being broken?
cheers

So far two tornadoes and two funnels clouds were reported for that day;- Tornadoes- Rugby and Halstead, Essex. FCs Newport and Cornewall.
Quite possible that this was another tornado though would require a site investigation

i see. so by site assessment we're talking identifying damage patterns indicative of cyclic winds or multi directional winds?
cheers
