Cheers Dave, and cheers for the heads-up Tony. Had a look at it myself and think there's good chances of something similar to the Stafford storm 9th May last year.

If I wasn't out shopping for going chasing, I'd be chasing... if that makes sense... Posted Image

Looking forward to any pictures that emerge of this Oxford cell, certainly been interesting watching it on radar! Still going strong too...

the sferics signature on that storm is interesting , starting around stroud and heading almost due west East , then mid oxon (in straight line above the solent) it changes course and heads north east.

edited for directional mistake

Bit to far off for me unfortunately. I'm looking at the other one to its WNW and hoping it will develop, as that IS heading my way :)

Storm in MK which headed from Bicester area. This storm definitely appears to have super cell characteristics, on approach the clouds were shifting into the storm from the south east, when the base was close there were scud and low level formations swirling in all different directions, now it's passing the clouds are shifting towards the south east, complete 180" rotational switch. Rain and pea sized hail hit in odd waves, one minute it was hammering down the next dry again. To my south east as it cleared I saw what looked like a wall cloud at the most southerly point of precipitation and lots of scud and what appeared to be brief funnel formations at a 45-60 degree angle from the rear lowering.and some very odd movement.

I assume you mean due east?
That's what standardly happens to storms round here. They come in a straight line towards us and then suddenly go east or west, but generally East towards MK. I think it must be something to do with the topography, but I don't know exactly causes it

Noticed some very low cloud as it passed by which did have some degree of rotation but soon fizzled out. This happened on three occasions.

Thanks , Yes!!! East.

Interesting comment too, So I guess its over the cotswolds escarpment and then, because of the anti-clockwise spin it pushes it northwards? , you could be right.

Hi everyone, any chance of thunder and lightning here in the Plymouth or Bere Alston area today, tonight?

Also heard that some heavy rain could occur Wednesday night, has this got potential?

Not sure if these were posted yet, but heres a couple of videos uploaded to netweather.tv, obviously credit to the original uploaders. This is the storm which I was talking about earlier that hit MK, and the clouds were exactly like that with motion as it pulled away from MK. Incredible sight.

Please keep eye on system expected to move up Bristol Channel in next couple of hours. Some interesting shape and embedded intense rain or hail cores. Tornado risk in association, especially if any shed vortices from north Devon or south Wales are picked up and stretched by convection.

Tornadic activity likely to be rain-wrapped.

Bet that will have a serious gust front on it, intense radar echo forming a perfect N-S aligned bow as it approaches Dublin. Hope someone is out with a camera!
