Was youtubing around looking at various weather videos when I noticed this one of a thunderstorm over Frankfurt station a couple of years ago. What I liked about it was that the thunderstorm wasn't the main focus of the video, it just happened to be going on. Even though the person videoing was there to film the trains, you can see at times he's quite interested in capturing bits of the storm too....and managed to capure a good couple of strikes near the start as well! (Just after 1 minute)

I liked it because there's something about life continuing as normal while weather rages around you that I like. I just like the atmosphere of it. I dunno, might not be to everyones tastes...

I thought I heard the announcer say that trains are delayed due to a fire on the line as well...whether thats related or not, I don't know!

w,r,t events, there has been a number of times when the members of the band Genesis mentioed giving a live concert in Katowice, Poland back in July 2007, emphasising it was perhaps the most amazing storm they had ever witnessed.

Was under that particular storm in Gliwice. Although lightning was not frequent, was remarkable for its intensity, and for the lighting to effectively cover the whole sky for several seconds at a time. The block of flats where I was staying was struck.

Might be some vids of this event on Youtube, but have not had chance to look.

Wonder how much you would have noticed of it in a concert though? (Not that the people who were there were there for the storm of course!)

There must be loads of videos that happen to have storms going on in the background. Sporting events are good ones. Formula 1 can be particuarly good for a bit of armchair thunderstorm watching!

Fair enough. Maybe if he had been brave enough to stay out on the end of the platform as the storm came over, it would have been more dramatic. I didn't think it would be to everyone's tastes but I just enjoyed seeing a storm filmed in a more unusual context.
